About Us
Stanley
Industries, Inc. was founded by Mr. Stanley I. Busch in Elyria, Ohio, in 1945. The company was originally called the Gerell Mfg. Company, and made buffing compounds. In 1948 Gerell moved to Cleveland's east side at East 40th & St. Clair and opened a small barrel finishing job shop.
In 1953, Gerell Mfg. moved again, to Sweeney Avenue, where the operation
was expanded. In 1955 the company was incorporated as the Stanley
Supply Co., and vibratory finishing equipment was added to
the shop. In 1961 the Stanley Supply Co. was introduced to the "Sweco"
Round Bowl Finishing Machine which it began to use, and to sell, and
the company began to grow very rapidly. In 1964 the Cranwood Parkway
building was completed and the company name was changed to Stanley
Industries, Inc.
Mr. Larry Siko became Plant Manager in 1967. Around that time, the company became both a service company and a sales and distribution company, for deburring machinery, media and compounds. Larry eventually became President in 1989. He retired in 2003.
Jay Cusick, our current President, joined the company in 1974, at which time it was decided that Stanley Industries would seek out new and more highly technical markets related to our core industry of mass finishing.
Several strategic alliances were formed with machine tool builders in
the ensuing years and that list of partners has grown and evolved to
include the best of the best in vibratory mills (Sweco
& CLM
VibeTech), industrial parts washing equipment (JenFab)
and pneumatic blasting systems (Empire),
as well as all other related technologies and supplies that have made
Stanley Industries an industry leader in mass finishing technologies.
Stanley Busch retired from active involvement with the company in 1989, at which time, Larry Siko and Jay Cusick became partners. Since that time the company has enjoyed steady growth, thanks in no small part, to the efforts of Tom Bossman, our Vice President, Roger Asbury, our plant manager, Winny Markovitz our Office Manager.
Larry is now retired, and Tom Bossman is now Jay Cusick's partner and Vice President. The rest of us at Stanley Industries, along with our various partners, are constantly looking for new and better ways to improve the services and the products we bring to our customers. In this way we hope to continue our record of excellence well into this millennium.
A major reason for our record of excellence is our emphasis on quality.
We have been ISO 9000:2008
registered since 2005. We are capable of performing
very sophisticated mass finishing applications including 100% inspection,
packaging and PPAP. We consistently score very high marks on customer evaluations for Quality
and On Time Delivery. Whatever specific needs you may have, we are willing
and able to fill them.
